Asia-Pacific data center operator DayOne has broken ground on the first phase of its Kodaira Data Center in Tokyo, Japan. The initial phase is planned to provide 15 megawatts of IT capacity, while the broader campus is designed to deliver 42MW.
The project is DayOne's second campus in Tokyo. The company is also developing the Fuchu Intelligent Park campus with Gaw Capital, where the planned capacity is 80MW across a 66,360-square-meter site.
DayOne said the Fuchu project's first phase will include a nine-story building with 18MW of capacity and is expected to reach core-and-shell completion by mid-2027. The company said its portfolio includes more than 500MW of capacity in service and under construction, with another 500MW held for future development.
The Kodaira groundbreaking adds new capacity to one of Asia's most competitive data center markets. Tokyo continues to attract operators seeking proximity to enterprise customers, cloud demand and regional network infrastructure.
