Global semiconductor revenue reached a record $425 billion in the second quarter of 2026, according to market data from Omdia cited by DIGITIMES.

Revenue increased 31.4% from the previous quarter, with artificial-intelligence demand and stronger memory pricing identified as major drivers. The result reflects the concentration of current semiconductor growth in data-center processors, high-bandwidth memory and related infrastructure.

The figures indicate that market expansion is being driven by both higher unit demand in AI systems and improved pricing conditions in memory. This combination has strengthened results for leading chip designers, memory manufacturers and parts of the equipment and packaging supply chain.

A record quarterly revenue figure does not mean every semiconductor segment is expanding equally. Consumer electronics and some mature-market applications remain more uneven, while AI-linked products account for a disproportionate share of industry momentum. The data nevertheless marks a significant acceleration in the overall chip cycle.
